Just because they don’t have to go to work, pay bills, or buy groceries doesn’t mean they don’t have stress. Remember when you were a little? Scared of the Boogey man, being locked in the closet by your brother, teased for wearing mismatch socks to school? Probably not, but you get the point.
Teach them how to laugh often. Not only does it keep them healthy, but also builds resilience to move through tough times as they get older. Like any muscle, the more you work it, the stronger it gets.
Games, puzzles, contests, movies, etc. provides lots of options to laugh together. If you’re already doing family night, add another night. If you only do it when you can fit it in, make it more often. Laughter is very powerful tool. Show them how to do it often and they’ll navigate just fine when they have their own mortgage 😊
